As announced the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on June 5, 2025, and the starting cost will be $449.99, and the game Mario Kart World will be costing $79.99. The new Nintendo is an upgrade to the old Switch since it has new and improved things. For example, it is going to have an 8-inch screen, the controllers are bigger, and the controllers no longer slide in and instead connect by getting pushed towards the body. There is also a new Game Chat button under the home button and something else being upgraded is the dock which is smaller and has rounder corners.
Now there is a lot of controversy on this Nintendo switch 2 considering its price and if it’s worth the $449.99 dollars. There are good things and flaws in the new Nintendo Switch, like one good thing is that most of the Nintendo Switch 1 games can be played on the new Switch. Though some games are getting an upgrade to the Switch 2 in which you have to pay the upgraded fee. Also, games for the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost more than the Nintendo 1 switch games.
In my opinion it looks like a good upgrade considering the time they had to make, though I personally won’t buy it because I don’t play the Nintendo that much. The graphics of the game, the look of the Switch and the new Mario Kart World are very appealing and tempting to buy. The only thing that keeps me from buying it is the price of it, price of the new games, and what am I going to do with my old switch. I also consider that there are not many new games for the Switch 2. I am also considering the rising prices that we are currently in, so that also plays a factor in why I am not buying it.
