Armwood’s Computer Science Honor Society celebrated computer science education week today! During the club meeting, members brainstormed ideas for projects and played MIT’s Terminus.
Developed by students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Terminus is an adventure game that teaches the player the basics of command line. The player must travel through this virtual world using text-based commands such as cd (to change location), ls (to look around), and mkdir (creates a new location). This translates to Linux basic commands, used to navigate files and directories, view contents of a directory, and make a new directory, respectively.

Some club member ideas for celebrating this week include (but are certainly not limited to): hour of code on code.org, start/continue to use sololearn to practice/learn a new programming language, creating an account on OWASP’s Heroku Juice Shop, and participating in CTF events. Speaking of which, the SANS Holiday Hack Challenge and KringleCon have officially kicked off! For more information, click here.
